It's already clear by now that OnePlus is planning to release a successor to the OnePlus 8 only. The OnePlus 8T Pro just isn't happening this time around. We also know the price and most of the specs, but it's always good to hear a confirmation from an official. And there's no better confirmation coming straight from the CEO himself.
In an exclusive interview with TechRadar, Pete Lau said that the OnePlus 8T will indeed feature a 120Hz refresh rate display and will be the same size as its predecessor, meaning 6.55". The engineers have worked on improving the perceived smoothness, color accuracy and maximum brightness too and as a result, the panel received an A+ rating from DisplayMate.
With the help of the new 2.5D flexible glass, the display can shine brighter, reaching a peak brightness of whopping 1,000 nits, while the color accuracy will be "the highest possible across the industry". And with the 2.5D term thrown around, it's safe to assume that it's going to be a flat display too. Which is a good thing for most.
Seeing how Pete Lau talks about the OnePlus 8T and compares the phone to the OnePlus 8 Pro too, he indirectly confirms that the OnePlus 8T will launch alone during the October 14 event.
