The iPhone 12 Pro is months away from its official announcement, but if you have $23,000 burning a hole in your pocket then the limitations of time and space do not concern you. No, Apple didn’t go crazy with the pricing, it’s just that Caviar is at it again and it plans to plate the phone with 18-karat gold.

The Caviar iPhone 12 Pro Victory Pure Gold, a lengthy name worthy of a royal phone, is decorated with floral motifs on the back. They represent the chamomile flower, which is the national flower of Russia.

There are also eight 0.48 carat diamonds (F/SI1) on there for good measure. The sides are engraved with the phone’s information and its unique number in the limited production run.

Five places to wear your mask to rile up the gammons

A WHITE van driver has no strong feelings towards the arse of a nearby woman, thinking it neither good, bad or worthy of comment.

Landscape gardener Bill McKay was stopped at a junction when he noticed a female pedestrian in a pair of tight-fitting jeans, but uncharacteristically felt himself unable to take a firm stance on her arse one way or another.

He said: “My instinct was to shout ‘nice arse’, but then I took a second to reconsider if I really meant it. Frankly, it was only okay.

“So then I mulled over a couple of insults, you know, comments that implied she’d had many sexual partners but I wouldn’t like to be one of them. I was very much torn on how best to articulate these complex feelings.

“But as I idled at the lights, I had an epiphany...

Black Shark 3S unveiled with 120 Hz 6.67″ AMOLED display, same Snapdragon 865 chipset

The Black Shark 3S has joined the game and it has picked up a few upgrades compared to the Black Shark 3. The biggest change is that the 6.67” AMOLED display now has a 120Hz mode in addition to the 90 Hz mode of its predecessor. The new panel is capable of 270Hz touch sampling rate (same as before).

The display has two pressure-sensitive zones, which can be mapped to different actions. Also, the gyroscope is used to detect flicking motions. You can create game macros too, which trigger several actions in sequence. Voice commands are available as well, so you can start the screen recorder without taking your hands off the controls.

Twat about to scan alcohol through a self-checkout

EVERYONE’S wearing masks now, but do you want to raise the blood pressure of gammons even more? These five locations should outrage the already red-faced:

Pub beer garden

A double whammy of overstepping government guidelines: not only are you in the pub, which Rishi Sunak has declared a virus-free zone, but you’re outside. Any anti-snowflakes seeing you will be bloody outraged, not that their side gets outraged, it’s the liberals always being outraged, etc.

Video call

You might not physically be there with Gary from client services, but you won’t be taking any chances. Slip the mask over your face as soon as he joins the call and by 5pm you’ll be the talk of the most disgruntled people in your workplace.

I cut out gluten and now everything in my life is perfect

LAST YEAR, I was a wreck. Overweight, ugly, deeply in debt, trapped in an unhappy marriage and playing Russian roulette every Saturday night just to feel alive.

And today? I have the looks of a model, am a millionaire dating a billionaire, and have just been named project manager at the Large Hadron Collider.

How have I achieved this miracle? Simple. I cut out gluten. And now my life is perfect in every single way.

Too good to be true? I thought the same before I stopped eating bread. Now look at me. I am a hot, successful and probably immortal human bathing in the glow of gluten-free beauty.

Did I mention I don’t eat gluten and I have to shop in that tiny aisle in Waitrose where they keep the food for special people? So what if it’s ridiculously expensive, flavourless and has kind of a...

iQOO shows off its 120W fast charger that can fill a 4,000 mAh battery in 15 minutes

iQOO showed off its latest fast charging system, which is capable of hitting 120 Watts. Interestingly, it’s faster than Oppo’s 125W system – when charging a 4,000 mAh battery, it needs only 15 minutes to hit 100% while the Oppo unit will take 20 minutes.

iQOO uses a slightly different setup. The charger outputs 20V at 6A, then two charge pumps inside the phone convert that to two 5V 12A currents (these pumps are slightly more efficient too, 98.5%). Oppo’s system uses three charge pumps to convert the 20V 6.25A from the adapter to 10V 12.5A.

As you can see, the two companies took very different approaches to achieve the same goal. You can watch the 120W system in action in the video below.

iQOO says that it will unveil its first phone with 120W charging support i...

Analysts: Huawei lead Q2 smartphone market, but Apple gained the most

With the second quarter well behind our backs, reports from analysts start pouring in. Yesterday Canalys reported that Huawei surpassed Samsung and took the top step, and today two other agencies confirmed the lead switch – Counterpoint Research and Omdia.

According to both, Samsung was affected the most by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, its sales going down over 25% on a yearly basis. In the same time, Apple was the only major player to increase shipments both on a quarterly and yearly basis.

Omdia’s numbers also show Tecno growing, while the rest of the top 10 all saw decreasing shipments compared to Q2 of 2019. On the other hand every company bar Samsung and Realme managed to improve on its Q1 numbers.
